Sorry: Its Fading Sheen!!!
‘Sorry’ is a common
word which we use frequently. This has become a ritual to say ‘Sorry’ for each trivial or giant
fault which we make in our day-to-day life. Since our childhood, we have been
trained to utter this magical word ‘Sorry’
as it shows that we’re well-mannered and full of repentance for our mistake. How pleasant it seems when we come across well-behaved people around us.
But ironically, ‘Sorry’ has lost its
significance and effect over the period of time.
Now we use this word mechanically
like a parrot chants the name of God without being familiar with its magnitude.
“‘Sorry’ has zero impact or meaning.
It slides off glibly from too many tongues.’ 1. Let’s discuss how the use of ‘Sorry’ makes any difference.
1. ‘Sorry’ shows that
we have a realization of our mistake.
2. It strengthens the relationship between two
people and brings them closer.
3. It shows a person’s acknowledgement of his
fault and determination to not to repeat it.
Why do people hesitate to say 'Sorry'.
* ‘Sorry’ energizes
a relationship as it increases a person’s maturity level.
* But as I’ve already mentioned that with the changing time, ‘Sorry’ has also stripped off its real
magic.
* Sometimes we feel that saying ‘Sorry’
will expose us to others.
* Moreover, it seems that these days, ‘Sorry’ is a mere formality.
* Apart from
that, people have a high sense of superiority complex and they seem reluctant
to say ‘Sorry’.
* Many times, we know
that we’re at fault but we’re ashamed to say ‘Sorry’ .
* Often, we’re unsure about the reaction of the person who is
hurt because of our behavior.
Hence, it’s essential for us to understand that the realization
of our mistake manifests in our behaviour not in chanting the word ‘Sorry’. 'Apologies are great, but they
don’t really change anything. You know what does? Action.' Stella Young, comedienne 2.
Let me mention that if we make some blunder, we can’t fix
the damage just by saying ‘Sorry’. Saying
‘Sorry’ has lost its importance due to our casual attitude. ‘Sorry’ has no
impact until we’ve empathy, acute introspection and emotional involvement in
our words and actions.
Best Wishes!!
